Welcome to the Queer Agenda!

Your one stop shop for all things queer and scouse.

It’s a scary time to be a trans or queer person in the UK. After the Supreme Court ruling on the definition of women in April 2025, many of us have been feeling angry, hopeless, afraid - and most of all, an urge to get out there and make things change.

Liverpool has an incredibly vibrant community of queer artists, activists and organisations working constantly to improve life for LGBTQ+ folk across the UK - but if you’re new to the city, it’s still incredibly hard to find queer friendly spaces and events.

And that’s where we come in. Introducing Merseyside’s collective rainbow diary - the Queer Agenda!

The logo for the Queer Agenda Merseyside. It features the title in curling cursive, and a graphic of a calendar with a progress flag in the shape of a heart over one of the dates.
OoOoO, look at our fancy logo.

What is this?

The Queer Agenda is a volunteer run community catch-up newsletter. Every two weeks, we’ll send out a list of upcoming queer events from across Merseyside - from markets and book clubs to club nights and protest marches. Not only that, we’ll be sharing events from local groups and organisations on our Instagram - no need to play lucky dip with the algorithm to find out what’s going on near you any more.

Who is this for?

We’re here for the girls, gays and theys - and everyone else under the LGBTQ+ umbrella. The Queer Agenda is here for three reasons:

  • To spread news about queer and trans events run in Liverpool and the surrounding area - everything from board games nights to trans dance parties!

  • To keep and maintain a list of trans-friendly spaces and organisations, easily accessible to queer visitors and locals alike.

  • To help promote community and cohesion between activists and groups across Merseyside - we’re most powerful when fighting together.

Can you post about my event?

We have a couple of criteria for the events we post. For example:

  • Your event must be trans-inclusive and focused on catering to the queer community.

  • Your event must not be hosted or created by an otherwise unrelated political party/organisation (with the exception of queer run and focused activist groups/charities).

  • You supply us with information about your event's accessibility, how people can attend (where to get tickets, where to meet, time and date etc.), any graphics or photos relevant to your event (logo, poster etc.), contact details for the organisers and any other event details we should be aware of.

If your event fits these simple criteria, we’d love to help you get the word out! It’s super easy to let us know - you can either send us an email, or message us on our Instagram, and we’ll make sure to include it in our regular event round-ups. Make sure you include a link to the event page and/or social pages so people can register their interest or sign up for tickets!

Who runs the Queer Agenda?

The Queer Agenda is run and continually updated by Ripley, co-founder of Board Gaymes Liverpool. They are a 26 year old disabled nonbinary person, currently located in Liverpool, and have been running accessible queer events for almost two years. Outside of their full time job as a graphic designer, they like games of all kinds (video, board and TTRPG), obsessing over queer sci fi, and thoroughly spoiling their flatmate’s cats, Sal and Ravioli.

How can I support the Queer Agenda?

If you want to support the Queer Agenda, you can do this in a couple of ways:

  • Share our blog and Instagram posts on your social media platforms and with your friends.

  • Turn up to queer events and tell them the Queer Agenda sent you - get the word out!

  • This is intended to be a free resource and always will be, but if you really want to contribute financially to the Queer Agenda and Ripley’s work, you can donate directly via this website using the form in the website footer, or via our Kofi.
