About the Event

Interested in books and reading? A pop-up book club for Black History Month will read and discuss a number of books of celebrated queer black writers, with talks by two celebrated authors. In this week's session, guests will be joined by Dean Atta, author of The Black Flamingo, a YA story in verse about a boy embracing his identity as a mixed-race gay teen - then at university, his experiences as a drag artist . The first five attendees will also get free copies of Dean's book! Tickets for each session are free and can be booked online here or via the button.


Access

There is a very slight incline at the door, and the doorway is a little narrow, but Caffe Nero is wheelchair accessible. Be aware that Bold Street often has obstructed pavements and may be difficult to navigate for wheelchair users.
