About the Event
Southport Bijou Cinema are presenting a week of screenings to celebrate Sefton Pride, and are continuing their week with Happy Together (1997), written and directed by Wong Kar-wai of In The Mood For Love fame, and regarded as one of the best LGBT films in the New Queer Cinema movement. Yiu (Tony Leung Chiu-wai) and Po (Leslie Cheung) visit Argentina to mend their problematic relationship. As things turn worse, they part ways and start new lives. However, after Po reappears in Yiu's disillusioned life, chaos ensues.

Southport Bijou Cinema is now fully accessible for all persons regardless of mobility status. The Bijou has two toilets on the ground floor, including a disabled bathroom. There is a small step to enter the building, though ramps are available at the entrance. The upstairs function area and gendered toilets are accessible by lift.
