About the Event
Join Homotopia for Scouse Sunday Dinner: The Art Activist Edition, a three-course feast of ideas inspired by Split Britches’ Long Table – a format where a domestic dinner table becomes a stage for conversation, and everyone is equally invited to speak, listen, write, and take part. The Long Table is a dinner party structured by etiquette, not hierarchy, where conversation is the only course.
The event will begin with us creating decorated plates, bowls, and cups that express the values, stories, and gifts we bring to activism – a way to place something of ourselves on the table even if we don’t speak.
Then comes the Long Table itself, hosted by researcher Emma Spruce. The table is open: participants can join at any time, take a seat, speak into the conversation, write on the tablecloth, or simply observe from the surrounding chairs. The conversation will meander, get messy, and find…
